RRTs to receive 2 months’ salary before Eid

Srinagar, Jun 14: The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today announced establishment of two Science Museums in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Science Museums will be established one each at Srinagar and Jammu under the SSA framework. The state of art Science Museums shall be an integral and dynamic part of the learning sciences in the State.
The minister made this announcement while chairing a meeting convened to take review of implementation of centrally sponsored schemes– Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) in the state.
The meeting was attended by Sectary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah, Directors of School Education, RMSA, SSA and other senior officers from the planning wing of the department.
During the meeting, the minister was informed that the salary of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers has been disbursed upto May 2017 and the salary of June will be paid in time.
However, the salary of Regularized ReT teachers (RRTs) has been cleared upto January 2017 and two months’ salary (February and March 2017) will be released before the occasion of Eid.
“We are aware of the difficulties being faced by SSA teachers on account of their salaries. But I assure them that this issue is being redressed on priority,” Bukhari observed.
While taking review of works being executed under RMSA and SSA, Bukhari asked the concerned officers to compile information about different construction works both completed and in progress from all districts of the state.
The Minster directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the construction of buildings for various schools across the state and ensure their early completion.
Bukhari stressed on speedy execution of all construction works being executed under SSA and RMSA for augmentation of school accommodation in the state.
“We can’t afford to lose more time now. Students in many a schools are suffering for the want of proper accommodation. Funds are available under both the centrally sponsored schemes so there should be no excuses for the delay,” Bukhari directed the officers present in the meeting.
The Minister also emphasised on availability of proper furniture in schools and asked the concerned officers to come up with the requirements from the schools across the state
