Srinagar, Jun 04: Senior PDP leader, Muhammad Dilawar Mir and his son , General Secretary, PDP Youth and MLA, Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir have castigated some new Delhi based news channels for leashing out vicious and false propaganda against respected and prominent Kashmiri business men including President , Hoteliers Club, Mushtaq Chaya adding that after targeting Kashmir tourism by portraying wrong perception about situation here in their news channels, they have now resorted to character assassination of prominent citizens of the valley.
In a joint statement to KNS, the father- son duo while castigating biased channels, have seconded the proposed bold decision of the Chairman Mumtaz Group of Hotels and President Hoteliers , Club to sue the news channel in the Court of Law against telecasting false report about him yesterday which tantamount to defame and tarnish his image.
Yawar said it was most unfortunate on the part of some myopic national news channels to further inflame the Kashmir situation instead of helping various peace and law and order restoration initiatives underway in the state.
He has hoped that good sense will prevail among all the news channels to use their resources for restoration of peace, strengthening communal harmony and ushering a lasting developmental era in the strife torn state. “Otherwise, portraying false perception about Kashmir through their news bulletins and group discussions , they are going totally against the national interest and are thus abetting circumstances to further widen the void of alienation among the Kashmiris especially the youth”, Yawar added.
He said such news channels are playing against the national interests and needed to be put to task under law.
The father-son- duo have also hailed the latest statement of the Home Minister, Rajnath Sing about permanent solution to the vexed Kashmir imbroglio adding that enough blood has spilled down the Jehlum and the leaders at the helm of affairs should rise to the occasion to provide Kashmiris an environment to live in peace and tranquility. They have appreciated the statement of the Home Minister about holding talks with the Kashmiris including youth to bring peace in the valley. (KNS)
