Srinagar, Jun 29: The administrative department Thursday reiterated ban on the private tuitions by the college teachers.
Authorities in a circular under no 03/HE of 2017 dated 29-06-2017 directed that no college teacher shall involve himself/herself in the practice of private tuition either before or after the working hours in the colleges.
“It has come to the notice of administrative department that some assistant/ associate professors of various government colleges of the state are indulging in the practice of private tuition,” the circular reads.
It further reads that the involvement of government employees in abetting the culture of private tuition’s amounts to a serious violation of Civil Services Conduct Rules, besides having an adverse effect on the dissemination of quality education in the colleges.
“The department has already imposed a blanket ban on private tuitions by the college teachers vide circular dated 04-01-2011. Hence, it is reiterated once again that henceforth, no colleges teacher shall involve himself/herself in the practice of private tuition either before or after the working hours in the colleges,” the circular adds.
Further, all the principals of government degree colleges of the state are hereby directed to ensure that there is a total prohibition on the practice of private tuition by college teachers. “Any report Administrative Department in case of any violation of the instructions shall be viewed seriously and appropriate action shall be under Employee Service Conduct Rules shall be initiated against the erring officers,” the circular added.
