Hailstorm damage crops in Kupwara
Famers, fruit growers suffer loss

Srinagar, Jun 14: The hailstorm wrecked havoc in several areas of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.
According to KNS correspondent, Fayaz Hameed with the hailstorm during this afternoon, standing crops including Apple orchards and vegetables were damaged in Lolab, Hyhama, Manigah, Halmatpora, Jugtiyal Batpora, Bumhama, Drugmulla, Waterkhani, Kigam Kani, Natnussa, Taras, Shalpora, Wadipora, Badrikal of Handwara areas of north Kashmir’s Kupwaraa district.
The district witnessed hailstorm in this afternoon, which continued half an hour thereby resulted in the tremendous loss to farmers and fruit growers, witnesses told KNS correspondent.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jehangir told KNS that the teams have been deputed to assess the losses. (KNS)
