Demands ex-gratia relief to the affected people

Srinagar, Jun 29: Chairman, PDF and MLA, Khansaheb, Hakeem Mohd Yasin has expressed shock over the loss of standing crops and property due to devastating thunder storm that hit various habitations of the Khansaheb constituency including Zaggoo Kharian, Sithharan and Ring Zabal, last evening.
Hakeem Yasin has asked the district administration Budgam to assess the losses caused to the residential houses and standing crops due to the thunder storm so that adequate ex-gratia relief could be provided to the affected people. He has asked the SDM, Khansaheb and the concerned Tehsildar to inspect the affected areas and provide livelihood to the affected families under MGNREGA besides construction of protection bunds in the affected areas.
He said that the thunder storm has wrecked a havoc, thereby inflicting colossal damage to the residential houses, cowsheds and agriculture and horticulture crops in the area. He has asked the district administration to sent joint team of the concerned officers of Revenue, agriculture, horticulture and Rural Developments to assess the quantum of damage and losses so that a case for relief and rehabilitation of the affected people is made without any delay.
