HC directs State to submit status report in missing of beggar’s child

Jammu, Jun 08: In a writ petition filed by human rights NGO, working in J&K, the bench of Hon’ble Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Jammu headed by Justice Bawa Singh Walia, today, issued directions to the Police department to file the status report in case of missing child of a beggar, who is missing from Gole Market Udhampur area for last more than one month. Upon getting information about the missing child on their toll free helpline number, the team of Voice for Rights visited Udhampur and filed a complaint in Police Station Udhampur. On noticing the inaction shown by the Udhampur police in tracing the missing child, the NGO filed a writ petition before the J&K High Court Jammu.
The High-Court Justice Bawa Singh Walia directed the state police department to file status report in the FIR registered in Police Station, Udhampur under section 363/102 RPC.
The writ petition was filed for seeking for constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace the six year old female child who has gone missing in mysterious circumstances in the last week of April’ 2017. (KNS)
