Himalayan Welfare Organization holds interactive session on depleted environment

 

Pahalgam, June 7: Himalayan Welfare Organization organized a one day public discussion over the menace of rampant use of polythene in Kashmir Valley.

The public discussion titled: ‘environmental conservation and the menace of poly bags’ was convened with the collaboration of Municipality Pahalgam at Town Hall.

A large number of people participated in the interactive session that was presided by Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Reyaz Ahmed Wani. Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam was the guest of honour.

The speakers spoke on the need for proper solid waste management and threw light on the sanitation related issues.

Mushtaq Pahlgami, president Himalayan Welfare Organization appreciated the efforts and work of sanitation workers and said that people will always support them for their hard work.

Director, ULB said the institution of Urban Local Bodies would be strengthened so as to make every destination in Kashmir clean and beautiful.

Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam, also expressed the intent to make Pahalgam neat, clean and polythene free. (CNS)
