Budgam, June 2: Throwing light on the significance of holy month of Ramadhan, senior separatist leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi said that the purpose of fasting in Islam is to attain nearness and closeness to God so that He becomes a reality in our lives. He said charity and generosity is especially urged during Ramadan. “Fasting in Islam does not just consist of refraining from eating and drinking, but from every kind of selfish desire and wrong-doing,”
While addressing people at Imambara Budgam, Aga Hasan said that the month of Ramadhan also teaches to feel the pain of our brothers.
“We should not expect anything from those who butcher Muslims on daily basis. Rohingya Muslims and other people across the world have becoming prey of blood thirsty communal forces. We have been watching how Buddhist fanatics in Burma are killing the Rohangya Muslims. Muslims must act fast and help their brethren,” he said.
He castigated the Behrin Government for assaulting religious preacher Sheikh Eisa Qasim and said that such tactics can’t break the resolve of the people of Behrin.
He also condemned the house arrest and detention of youth and political leaders in this holy month of Ramadhan. (CNS)
