Srinagar, Jun 19: CPI-M leader and MLA, M Y Tarigami today batted strongly for fulfilling the demands of Aganwari workers and helpers by the government and releasing their wages pending for several months.
“The insensitive approach of the state government towards the long pending legitimate grievances of Anganwadi workers and helpers is unfortunate. Their demands should be fulfilled,” Tarigami said in a statement to KNS.
Anganwadi workers and helpers have greatly contributed in making the Integrated Child Development Scheme viable in the state but they have been pushed to the wall and the state government seems to be insensitive towards their well-being, the CPI-M leader said.
He demanded “release of wages in favour of Anganwari workers and helpers pending for several months without any further delay, in view of ensuing Eid festival”. (KNS)
