Sufi singers mesmerize audience at Tagore Hall

Rashid Jehangir also performs on the occasion

Srinagar, Jun 13: A Sufi musical performance mesmerized the audience of Srinagar city at Tagore Hall on Tuesday. The Sufi musical programme was arranged by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Renowned singers, who performed included Rehmatullah Khan, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Munir Ahmad Mir, Assad Anjum, Mohd Shafi Malik, Aijaz Sahir, and Kifayat Faheem.
The singers mesmerized the audience through well-known pieces and cast a spell with their power-packed performances, which left the audience head-banging and cheering.
On the insistence of the audience Rashid Jehangir also performed on the occasion. The singers sang the poetry of Nishat Ansari, Syed Muzafar, Fazil Kashmiri, Sarfaraz, Mir Azizullah Haqani, and Hazrat Ameer Khosru.
Today’s performance was part of Academy’s ongoing Ramzam Special series, which will culminate on 24th of this month. Among others, Dr. GN Itoo, Director School Education Kashmir was also present on the occasion.
