Criticizes NIA raids in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 03: Democratic Political Movement (DPM) chairman Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi terms the map issued by UN as the acceptance of reality.
While he appreciated the move, he stressed on the need of practical steps towards the resolution of the issue by the world body.
Reshi while criticizing the raids by NIA in Kashmir said that this is a futile exercise to intimidate Kashmiris and such efforts of India establishment will not bear any fruit like many such steps taken in past. He further said that the atrocities by forces against people can’t suppress the movement.
In a statement issued to KNS, Advocate Reshi said despite the ongoing uprising the people of Kashmir neither seem exhausted nor hopeless, which is glaring example that the Kashmir is determined to bring the ongoing movement to its logical conclusions.
He said that Kashmir issue one again became a flashpoint as India is denying to accept the historical facts.
Advocate Reshi said that any war between India and Pakistan over Kashmir can prove disaster for entire South Asia.
He said that Indian leadership should understand that war, violence and other related things can’t resolve the Kashmir issue. “The historical facts about Kashmir have to be accepted and it has to be resolved through a peaceful dialogue,” he said.
Meanwhile, DPM chairman while terming the arrests of resistance leaders, activists as unreasonable, condemned the raids and arrest of youth in Kashmir.
He further paid tributes to the Sopore youth who were killed a few days back in an encounter and expressed solidarity and condolence to the bereaved families.
Adv Reshi further said that, “The mission freedom left behind by these great sons of soil should be dearer to every Kashmiri more than anything else & it is now every bodies duty to take this resistance movement to its logical conclusion and it is moral duty of every Kashmiri to safe guard these sacrifices so that the souls of our martyrs rest in content & peace and presence of thousands.” (KNS)
