​Sanctorum College of Education Sopore organises Tour for B.Ed Trainees 

Sopore : Sanctorum College of Education Sopore in its efforts to channelize the young minds on tuesday organised a study tour for B.Ed students to NHPC URI I and NHPC Uri II.
The trip was flagged off early tuesday from Sanctorum Institute Sopore, in which 40 B.ED students from various villages of north kashmir along with three teachers accompained them in day long tour.

During the day long tour the students visited Uri Dam, A Dam which is 480 MW hydroelectric power station on the Jhelum River near Uri north kashmir’s Baramulla District. The station is largely built under a hill with a 10 km tunnel. It is of the run-of-the-river type without a large dam, since the Indus Waters Treaty gives Pakistan the exclusive right to regulate the Jhelum River.On 4 July 2014 a 240 MW Uri-II power project was inaugurated.The project was awarded by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation in October 1989 to a European consortium called Uri Civil led by Swedish Skanska and including Swedish NCC and ABB and British Kvaerner Boving. It was partially funded by the Swedish and British governments.

In a statement issued said that during the day long tour the students enjoyed this unique effort by the institute which was reflected from their joyous mood.The statement further read that such tours are conducted to provide students an opportunity to explore different places and interact with their counterparts from other parts of the valley.

According to statement issued reads that visit to local tourist spots provided adequate leisure and entertainment to the students, the statement further reads that the tour was successfully done with the help of Station House Officer Uri Mr.Tabraiz Khan.
