71th I-Day celebrated across Chenab Valley

Doda/Gandoh,Aug 15: Like other parts of country, 71th Independence Day of the Democratic Republic of India, was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety by various educational institutions across Chenab Valley.

Aman Kumar,Tehsildar  Gandoh unfurled the National Flag and took salute at an impressive march past by J&K Police, NCC,SSB 7BN Gandoh,and educational institutions.Tehsildar Gandoh Aman Kumar  was chief guest and SDPO Gandoh Sunny Gupta was guest of honour in a major function held at Hali Pad in Sub division Gandoh(Bhalessa).

Range officer Gandoh Zaffrullah Sheikh,BDO Changa,4RR Major,ZEO Gandoh prominent citizens, students, locals, besides officers of civil, Army, and police administration were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, cultural programme, poetry recitation contest, group dance competition and symposium were held, in which students participated actively.
   Later, Aman Kumar distributed mementos among the best adjudged schools for presenting cultural programme and march past contingents.
Similar, functions were also held at Kishtwar, Doda,Thathri, Bhaderwah, and other areas of Chenab Valley where respective SDMs and Tehsildars unfurled the national flag and take salute from the parade.
