‘She is a social worker’
Handwara, Aug 24: South Asian Peace Movement (SAPM) presented the best youth award to Abida War who is working as social and peace activist from last so many years.
Abida war started her journey from a remote village Bakiaker Handwara as social worker by working on various social issues particularly women issues which are increasing at alarming rate.
It is worth to mention here that she resigned from govt. Job in 2006, but joined social welfare department in 2008.
She has brought youth together by framing organization Youth for peace and justice and women trust as Women Empowerment Trust to explore the issues and bring social change.
She is president of international organization Gandhi Global family under which she managed to organize Gandhi Mandila cricket tournament for special children from different orphanage of state in collaboration with UNIC Delhi.
Abida ascertain her nation that she will keep herself always available to serve. (KNS)
