The resident applicants told KNS the they being dragged from one office to another in the administration and the government is not taking a final decision about permission and conversion rates.
They said that Building Operations Controlling Authority (BOCA) has given building permission to scores of people, however, LAWDA is demanding conversion fee from them.
“We are ready to pay the conversion rate, but LAWDA is not telling us how much we have to pay. We want to do everything legally but LAWDA is forcing us to resort to illegal means,” locals told KNS.
They said that they have already obtained building permission from Building Operations Controlling Authority.
LAWDA officials said that the cases have been sent to the government’s high level committee for taking a final decision on the permission and conversion rates.
