‘Hopes Centre, JK will result-oriented steps’
Srinagar, Aug 24: PDP senior leader and MP, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, has appreciated the decision of the Government of India for setting up of a commission to examine the sub-categorization of backward communities and hoped that the centre will take result-oriented steps in this regards.
Talking to KNS, Baig said that the he hoped that the OBCs in Jammu and Kashmir will get benefitted with the decision.
“A report which recommends for benefits and welfare of OBCs is pending with the state government as well. I hope both the center and the state governments will take practical and result-oriented steps in this regard,” he said.
The Union Cabinet approved setting up of a commission to examine the sub categorization of backward communities in the central list to ensure that the benefits extended to OBCs reach all the communities.
The Commission shall submit its report within 12 weeks from the date of appointment of the Chairperson of the Commission. The Commission shall be known as the Commission to examine the sub-categorization of Other Backward Classes. (KNS)
