Minister assures to send a team to the area

Srinagar, Aug 20: The cattle owners in several villages in Kupwara district are worried as their cattle have been infected by some diseases which is proving fatal for them, even as Animal and Sheep Husbandry department has not visited the area despite appeals by the residents.
Residents in the villages of Nowgam, Reshwari, Nilwan, Puthwari and Kishtwar said that some disease has infected their cattle due which they are dying.
“Besides cows, sheep and goat are also infected by the disease,” the villagers told KNS, adding that the Animal and Sheep Husbandry department has failed to visit the area.
“We have informed the officials of the Animal and Sheep Husbandry department but they have not visited the area yet,” the residents told KNS.
Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Forest, Ecology and Environment, Zahoor Mir told KNS that he will direct the officials to look into the matter and visit the area.
