Appeals higher ups to release their wages at earliest
Srinagar, Aug 30: Scores of Casual labours and Consolidated Workers (CLCW) of territorial division of forest department on Wednesday held protest at Chief Conservative Office here at Lal Chowk against the government for ‘failing to address the woes of teachers’.
The casual labours and consolidated workers assembled in the premises of Chief Conservative Office and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’.
The protesters said that the authorities have failed to release their wages from last five months.
Talking to media persons, they said that the government has failed to release the wages of labours and workers from past five months thereby resulted in the hardships to the people of Kashmir.
“As the EID is approaching, the government has left the families of Casual labours and consolidated workers at the verge of starvation while we are also not able to pay fees of our wards,” he said.
The protesting labours and workers said that the government should release the wages immediately so that the people here could feel a sigh of relief.
They appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter and fulfil their demands at earliest.
Meanwhile, the protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
