Appeals affluent families to take care of needy
Srinagar, Aug 31: Strongly condemning the excessive force and crackdown against civilian population in nook and corner of state Kashmir and particularly in South Kashmir, Syed Ali Geelani said that it is highly condemnable that authorities don’t even allow people to celebrate Eid
Lashing authorities, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his deep concern over increasing use of repressive measures of forces against civilians, students and continuous detention of pro-freedom activists.
Geelani, while referring to state authorities, said that they have waged a war against civilians and particularly targeting our young generation and student community and while terming police action against students of Handwara college unjustified and uncalled, Geelani added that basic rights are being trampled with military might.
Strongly criticizing NIA, Syed Ali Geelani said that Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif ullah, Raja Meraj u Din, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shahid ul Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar have been kept under unlawful custody. Geelani said that it is a ploy to malign pro-freedom leadership and criticized NIA for repeated summoning of members of business community, Noor Mohamad Kalwal, Dr Nayeem Geelani and Dr Naseem Geelani & added that all these tactics won’t cow down spirits and passions of pro-freedom leadership.
The NIA lacks its credibility asserted Geelani and said that its credentials are doubtful as all those detained and interrogated by NIA, figure among prominent political workers and respectable citizens.
