Budgam, Aug 06: Expressing his dismay over slow pace of development in Doodhpathri tourist resort, in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, the Chairman Peoples Democratic Front, and the MLA, Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has demanded special grants under Prime Minister’s Development plan to build tourism infrastructure there.
During his inspection to Doodhpathri, along with the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) Doodhpathri Tourism Development Authority DDA and the Concerned Executive Engineer, Hakeem Yaseen said the tourism department has failed to exploit the vast tourism potential of this mesmerizing tourist destination in a time bound manner adding that the visitors to this place are facing in convenience for want drinking water, Lavatory facilities and other utility services. Hakeen Yasin has enjoined upon the C. E.O and Executive Engineer to expedite work on the current year’s approved plan so that tourists are provided satisfactory facilities during their visit to this place. “I hope that the Chief Minister, who also holds the Tourism portfolio, will take personal interest to accelerate the tempo of development in Doodhpathri, “Hakeem Yaseen said adding that tourism exploitation of Doodhpathri will open vast employment opportunities for the local populace who almost hail from backward class.
Hakeem Yaseen also interacted with the visitors and local Ponny Wallas who pleaded for providing Hotel and restaurant facilities at Doodhpathri.
On way to Doodhpathri, several deputations met to Hakeem Yaseen and apprised him about their demands. He assured them that their grievances with regard to availability of drinking water, power, road connectivity, ration, education and health care facilities would be addressed on priority basis. He sought their cooperation in making Khansahen as one of the model Constituencies of the state. He asked the people to monitor the quality of works being executed under various sectors in their respective areas. (KNS)
