‘Authorities failed to provide accommodations’


Srinagar, Aug 02: Hajis of Kashmir Wednesday complained of inadequate facilities provided to them by the authorities in Saudi Arabia.
The Haji’s who left from Srinagar to perform Hajj- 2017 told KNS that they were provided no accommodations and had to sleep at Airport there.
Imdad Saqi , a senior journalist while quoting his relative who is currently performing Hajj said that the authorities have failed to provide suitable accommodation to them.
He alleged that no rooms were provided to them thereby compelled the pilgrims to spend the whole night under the open sky at Airport.
According to KNS correspondent, Syed Fayaz who is also performing the Hajj allege alleged mismanagement by the authorities, saying that the pilgrims are facing immense hardships here.
“We were provided Sim cards but unfortunately after reaching here, the sim cards are not working thereby resulted in inconvenience to the pilgrims,” he said.

He added that every pilgrim is suffering similar hardships.
Meanwhile, the pilgrim informed KNS that they have sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister in this regard wherein they have appealed him to look into the matter and redress their grievances.
“We approached to the officials in this regard here but unfortunately nothing has been done so far,” the pilgrims said. (KNS)
