Srinagar, Aug 18: incarcerated senior resistance activist Shakil Ahmad Bhat is being victimized for his resilience and steadiness. This was stated by the zonal president of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Noor Muhammad Kalwal while condemning the police atrocities being committed on peaceful political activists and leaders languishing in various jails. Terming the prolonged incarceration of Shakil Ahmad Bhat as worst victimization of a peaceful political activist, JKLF zonal president said that Shakil was arrested by Maharajganj police before Eid ul Fitr. He was ruthlessly beaten by police at police station and his arm was also broken in police cane charge. From last two months he is languishing at central jail Srinagar with his broken arm and no medical facility or treatment is being provided to him which is endangering his life. JKLF zonal president said that ill treatment meted out to a peaceful; political activist is highly condemnable. He appealed ICRC to take note of these atrocities being committed on political workers languishing in jails and police stations.
While condemning the ongoing harassment of people living in Sonawari especially Hajin, JKLF zonal president said that people of Hajin are being harassed by Indian forces and police and are being forced to migrate from their home. He said that during searches and cordons anybody found from Hajin are being tortured, beaten and humiliated by forces which are highly condemnable.
