Kashmiri girl trains aspiring footballers

Aims to train footballers for world competition

Srinagar, Aug 05: Qudsia Altaf, 23, left her engineering studies to train youngsters in Jammu and Kashmir in football. She trains aspiring footballers of the valley at Kashmir University and other sports grounds in Srinagar.
Qudsia said that she left engineering and enrolled at the National Institute of Sports in Patiala to become a football coach.
“I loved the game from my childhood and played it from 2007,” she told KNS.
The girl is aiming at training footballers so that they could compete at the world level.
While training the youth, she said that she is studying Interior Designing.
Recently, she J&K State Sports Council offered her to coach young footballers in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Qudsiya said that an National English daily has “misquoted” her in a news report.
“I have not said anything about the stone-pelters as I have been quoted in the story,” she said. (KNS)
