Official sources said that the step has been taken “as a precautionary measure”.


Baramulla, Aug 5: Clashes erupted in different parts of North Kashmir after the killing of three militants at Amargarh Sopore.
The three slain militants belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba, police said.
To quell the protests, authorities not only snapped cellular and internet services but also ordered the closure of schools and colleges in Sopore and Baramulla.
Official sources said that the step has been taken “as a precautionary measure”.
They said that educational institutions have also been shut in Handwara, Hajin and Sumbal areas of north Kashmir.
Cellular and mobile Internet services excluding Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), have also been suspended following the killing of three LeT militants.
The services were suspended as “precautionary measure” in Baramulla district. The mobile Internet services barring broadband remain down here in the district.
