Srinagar, Aug 07: Muslim League (ML) Jammu Kashmir Monday condemned the arrest of several youth on doubt over the lynching of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Muhammad Ayoub Pandit in the month of Ramadhan.
In a statement issued to KNS, ML spokesman, Sajjad Ayoubi said that the arrest of many youth including Adil Zargar, Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Moomin Nabi, Dawood Fayaz, Seeratullah, Junaiad Ahmad, Arsalan Mushtaq, Arooj Aafaq, Sameer Ahmad, Owais Ahmad, Sheikh Waleed, Musavir Ahmad, Danish Ahmad, Mubashir Ahmad, Danish Hussain, Bilal Ahmad, Talib Hussain, Faisal manzoor and Haris Hussain on doubt over DySP’s lynching is injustice and condemnable.
He said that the arrests of youth are aimed to curb the voices of people in Srinagar over Right to self-determination.
“Despite the claims about progress, employment and peace, the youth here are being arrested on false cases due to which they are adding fuel to the situation and are growing the anger among the youth,” he said.
He said that such arrests have exposed the policies of government regarding the youth due to which they are being compelled to take extreme step.”Such arrests should be stopped and the prisoners should be released soon,” he said. (KNS)
