The tour will enrich them with knowledge and wisdom: Army
Srinagar, Aug 22: In what Army termed a move to educate, motivate and expand the horizons of farmers of Kulgam district of south Kashmir, Army has sent 20 farmers to Agricultural Universities of Hisar and Bikaner.
According to Army spokesperson, the tour was flagged off from Buna Devsar camp on Monday.
Army in a statement issued to KNS said the seven days tour planned under Op Sadhbhavana will definitely play an important role in the life of farmers of Kulgam district. It reads the farmers would be visiting Agricultural University of Hisar and Bikaner and gain first-hand experience by visiting the laboratories and fields.
“They will also have golden opportunity to interact and share their thoughts and views with the Vice Chancellor and senior scientists of Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University and Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University,” said the army.
A trip to Golden Temple at Amritsar has also been planned during the return journey. Army said the tour will serve as an opportunity to the farmers to know about their country’s advance techniques in Agricultural Sector and will definitely enrich them with knowledge and wisdom. (KNS)
