‘Indications on eroding special status might compel us to rethink over accession’
Srinagar, Aug 09: Jammu and Kashmir Awai National Conference president, Begum Khalida Shah on Wednesday said that scrapping of Article 370 and Article 35-A would deteriorate the situation in the state.
In a statement issued to KNS, she said that the projections indicate that a conspiracy is being hatched to infringe the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
“There is a dire need to join hands to protect the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and to safeguard the aspirations of people. Unity among the political parties is the only way to protect the JK’s special status,” she said, adding that the indications on eroding special status might compel us to rethink over accession with India.
Welcoming the opposition parties including National Conference, Congress Peoples Democratic Front and Democratic Party Nationalist meeting over Article 35-A with Chief Minister, Khalida Shah said that the meeting between Mehbooba Mufti and Dr Farooq Abdullah clearly indicates that this issue has put out a question mark on the future of state.
