Tours City areas, asks people to come up with their grievances
Srinagar, Aug 07: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner, Dr Shafqat Khan alongwith other officers Monday conducted a tour of Srinagar City to review the status of city sanitation.
Khan who was accompanied by team of Municipal Officers including Joint Commissioner (Planning), Executive Engineers, Executive Engineer (Mech), AEE (Mech) Chief Enforcement Officer, Chief Sanitation Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, Municipal Sanitation Officers and Enforcement Officers, conducted a tour of Srinagar City to review the status of city sanitation.
According to the statement issued to KNS, during the tour, the removal of illegal occupancy of footpaths and roads was also reviewed.
Commissioner also met various delegations on the ground.
The areas which they inspected include Lal Chowk, Baba Damb, Khanyar, Nallamar, Safakadal, Qamerwari and Karan Nagar.
During the tour, Commissioner also took stock of drainage issues, street lights, beautification of parks, maintenance of footpaths and related civic issues.
He appealed people of the City to immediately bring their grievance into the notice of authorities through telephone, e-mail or by personally visiting the central office of SMC.
He shared his personal mobile number with the citizens and asked them to call him directly whenever needed.
SMC has appealed to people to be responsible regarding disposal of their household and commercial garbage and hand it over to the Safaikaramcharies.
The statement reads that the Corporation shall make all possible steps to make City of Srinagar as smart and clean city in the coming times. (KNS)
