Students stage protest against non-availability of teachers in Bamoo

Gandoh, Aug 04: The he parents and students of Government primary school Bamoo, raised protest demonstration against the Education Department and raised slogans against the Government.Boycotting their classes the students raised slogans demanding teaching staff in the school.

The students said that due to the shortage of teaching staff in the school, academic session of students is affected the classes are mostly conducted in the open sky due to lack of infrastructure.

“We were forced to lodge a protest as despite our repeated pleas for the teachers no step has been taken so far,” students said.

Residents of the village said that they had been requesting the authorities concerned to get the dilapidated portions of the building repaired. The school was also lacking basic amenities and the students could not sit in the classrooms and concentrate on the lessons.

“On one hand government has been making claims of better facilities and highly qualified teachers in the government schools while on the other hand due to shortage of required subject teachers, adequate infrastructure and other facilities in the government schools, people prefer to send their children to private institutions,”  Bashir Ahmed told.

They warned to come to streets and block the Doda-Thathri road and launch massive protest against the education department if their problem was not addressed within two days.
