Gandoh, Aug 06: Shopkeepers from sub-division Gandoh have warned that they would take to the streets against the government’s failure to compensate the affected shop keepers of Gandoh which was destroyed in a huge fire on April 15,2017.
The fire gutted over 27 shops, six Residential structure in a major fire in Gandoh of Doda district on April 15.
Mohammad Saleem Youth journalist association president Gandoh (Bhalessa)has demanded compensation to the affected shopkeepers. “The shopkeepers, whose shops were destroyed in the fire incident should be provided adequate compensation so that they can start their business afresh.
the shopkeepers of sub division Gandoh still without compensation even after the lapse of 5 months,” Mr saleem added.
However, he regretted that so far not a single penny had been released to the shopkeepers.
“We demand immediate attention of the governments towards the plight of the sub division Gandoh affected shopkeepers,” shabir Ahmed told.
Like him, many other shopkeepers are also demanding compensation for the huge losses they have incurred.
