Tral residents demand macadamization of road

‘It will be done within a month’

Tral, Aug 18: The residents of Nagbal in Tral Tehsil are up in arms against the Public Works department for not macadamising their damaged road.
The residents said that the department macadamised five kilometers of the road from Kehlil to Nagbal but left two kilometers without macadamising.
They said that the department had tendered all seven kilometers to a contractor who after macadmising five kilometers refused to macadamise the remaining part.
The PWD said that the two kilometers of the road are severely damaged and have to be metalled first.
PWD Executive Engineer Awantipora, Sajad Naqeeb said that the two kilometers of the road are more damaged and it cannot be macadamise in the present position.
“The department will issue a G2 tender for repairing it first and then it will be macadamised. The whole process will be done within a month,” he told KNS. (KNS)
