Two persons died due to non availability of ambulance driver, doctor’s in Kangan hospital

Ganderbal, Aug 24: Two persons died in separate incidents in kangan an area of central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal. Three persons received serious injuries in wussan tile factory mishap on Thursday morning. 

After the factory incident people reached Kangan hospital along with three injured persons where one person namely Muhammad Amir Malik resident of Lari Prang died, which caused massive protest at outside Kangan hospital. 

Local people alleged in absence of doctors caused time to time incidents here in Trauma hospital kangan. 

The protestors shouting slogans against the hospital authorities blocked Srinagar- Leh highway at main market Kangan, demanding strict action against concerned persons who were not present on their duties at Kangan hospital. 

The people who were present on spot said only one doctor namely Dr junaid was present in hospital, alleged that the non availability of staff, other facilities caused the deaths from time to time in hospital. 

Meanwhile 22years old young boy Muhammad Rafiq son of Abdul Rasheed bhat resident of Kachnambal Kangan a mechanic by profession fell unconscious on Wednesday afternoon at his own automobile shop, he was taken to trauma hospital kangan where as per locals the Ambulance driver was not present in the Hospital to ferry him to SKIMS Soura for special treatment. 

Locals said ambulance driver didn’t receive our phone call for 30mts, is this a hospital or a comedy circus they said after hours of wait we took patient in our own sumo to ferry him SKIMS Soura for special treatment. 

The death of another labour on today morning caused more anger in locals, shopkeepers, closed there shops after the another incident and joined with protestors.

Local people, relatives of the deceased and other residents early today closed Srinagar-leh Highway at main market Kangan which disrupted the traffic jam for hours together locals demanded strict action against the ambulance driver and other concerned persons on duty. 

Meanwhile ADC Ganderbal Shahnawaz Bukhari, Tehsildar Kangan Mushtaq Ahmad and SHO Kangan reached to the spot and assured a valid investigation into the death of the two patients. 

When this reporter contacted CMO Ganderbal he refused to say anything about the incident, BMO Kangan Dr Qazi Shabir Ahmad Said we had kept the ambulance driver under suspension and further investigation is going on strict action will be taken against those who will be involved.
