Srinagar, Sep 23 Zahoor Andraabi: Panic has gripped in Damhal Hanji Pora area of Kulgam district after girls have became the victim of mysterious braid chopping from the last two days.According to KNS correspondent, Zahoor Andrabi, over a dozen of girls have became the victim of braid chopping in last two days, which has created panic among the girls in the district.Locals as per KNS correspondent said that their daughters prefer to stay inside after braid chopping incident took place in DH Pora.They said that the administration has failed to take steps in this regard for the wellbeing of the people.Meanwhile, Bar Association DH Pora also held a protest today against what they termed as ‘the failure of the authorities in tracing out the accused involved in braid chopping incident’.The protesters were holding banners and raised slogans against the administration.
They said that the authorities should take immediate steps to trace the involved persons soon. “Many girls have so far become the victim of braid chopping. We appealthe higher ups to look into the matter as such incidents have created panic among the locals here,” they said.They said that administration should find out the facts at earliest so that the people here could feel a sigh of relief.Sub District Magistrate (SDM) DH Pora, Abdul Rashid Mir told KNS that the police has already registered five FIRs in this regard. “The investigation has already been taken up. There is no need to panic. I appeal the general public to help the administration in tracing out thepersons involved in such incidents,” he said. (KNS)
