Aga Hassan condemns killings, persecution of Rohingya Muslims
Srinagar, Sep 30: Anjuman Shari Shian took out Muharam processions across Kashmir Valley on Saturday, the ninth of Muharram, to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala.
In Srinagar, the main procession was taken out from Gawkadal, Ashai Bagh, Zadibal, Alamgari Bazar, Hasanabad, Botakadal and other parts of the city. Besides the mourners took out processions at different places including Budgam, Chakarpora, Beerwah, Chandapora, Shalkot, Magam, Chadora, Dafpora, Nowgam Sonawari and other areas.
At Central Imambara Budgam, Anjuman Shari Shian president Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi paid glowing tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and Karbala Martyrs. He delivered a sermon in which he paid rich tributes to the Karbala martyrs.
Aga Syed Hasan also threw light on life and teachings of Imam Hussain (AS) and asked people to follow the path and teachings of Islam. “The martyrs of Karbala have set an example before us through their deeds, which will remain till the last day of this world,” he said. He also prayed for the whole Muslim Ummah for their religious peace, unity and integrity.
Condemning the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims, Aga Hasan expressed shock over the silence maintained by the world bodies. He said that United Nations should come forward to help the oppressed lot that are Rohingyas as well as Kashmiris.
He said the Organization of Islamic countries should break its “criminal silence” over such a serious issue confronting a large Muslim population of Rohingya and play its role to stop their killings and persecution by the Myanmar state.
He urged the world community and international human rights bodies to do their duty and come to rescue of Rohingya Muslims by putting pressure on Myanmar Government and its military to stop the hate killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims and let them live peacefully in their own land. (KNS)
