Investigation of the incident is going on’
Srinagar, Sep 07: A civilian was killed while 13 were injured in a grenade blast that occurred at Jahangir Chowk here Thursday evening, officials said.
Medical Superintendent of SMHS Dr Nazir Choudhary told KNS that one civilian who was brought in injured condition to the hospital succumbed.
He said that 12 other civilians who were injured are being treated.
Police said in a statement that one person has died when “terrorists today evening hurled a grenade at Jehangir Chowk, which exploded in the busy market, claiming one life and injuring about 13 persons.”
“Fourteen persons were injured in a terrorist attack, after they hurled a grenade at Jehangir Chowk in which about 14 persons including a traffic Police personnel were injured,” the spokesman said.

“The injured were shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment where one of the injured identified as Maqsood Ahmad Shah son of Ali Mohammad Shah resident of Budgam succumbed to his injuries. The Traffic police personnel was shifted to Police Hospital, Srinagar for treatment. The investigation of the incident is going on,” he said. (KNS)
