Srinagar, September 29: A youth was severely injured during stone-throwing clashes that erupted at Nowhatta area of old city today after Friday prayers.
A police official told news agency GNS that groups of youth resorted to stone-pelting on forces after Friday prayers. He said police used teargas and pellets against stone-throwers during which one youth namely Mudasir Beigh (16-17) of Zoonimar Soura was hit, leaving him wounded.
Sources said the youth was shifted to hospital and he has received injuries in head. “He was hit by both pellets and shell in his head,” the sources added. Eyewitnesses described his situation critical.(GNS)
