Crack down on illegal earth excavation in Ganderbal 

”Police seized eight tippers”

Ganderbal, Sep 24: Police on Sunday acted against illegal earth excavation in some areas of Central Kashmir’s District Ganderbal. 

A top police official said on the directions of SSP Ganderbal, a special drive was conducted to check the illegal excavation and transportation of soil within and outside district ganderbal. 

He said special nakas were established in which eight tippers carrying illegal soil were seized by police station Khirbwani, In this regard we have registered a case under FIR NO: 37/2017 U/S 188,379,447-A and investigation has been taken up.

Meanwhile residents of ganderbal said some areas of the district are situated on the foothills and are living in fear because of the apprehension of landslides due to stone and soil quarrying. 

They added we appreciate police for this drive, but it should not be a one day deal we demand a strict action against those involved in illegal practice to curb the menace of earth excavation in Ganderbal.
