Licenses of habitual offenders will be suspended’
Srinagar, Sep 22: During the night checking at Tangdar Karna by the team of ARTO Kupwara an amount of Rs 10,600 was recovered from violators under various sections of MV act/rules.
According to KNS, the vehicles plying on various routes remained off from the road during day time as the nakas were laid down at various places.
It said the vehicles plying on routes have been found over loaded during checking and were fined accordingly.
Later, a meeting was held with SDM Karnah, SHO and representatives of various transport groups regarding transport related issues wherein various issues related to the transport sector were discussed.
The SHO Karnah was asked to conduct checking on various routes on daily bases and forward the route permits and driving licenses of habitual offenders to ARTO Kupwara for its suspension for the period not less than three months.
A road safety awareness programme was conducted at Sumo stand Tangdar wherein basic road safety tips were delivered among the drivers. Moreover Road Safety related pamphlets were distributed among the Drivers and general public.
An Awareness programme of PSGA related to the services provided by Motor Vehicles Department was delivered to the general public and drivers. General Public were requested to submit their applications for the driving licenses and learning licenses online on the website –www.parivahan.gov.in, as these services had been switched over to Sarathi 4.0 for driving licenses and Vahan 4.0 for registration of vehicles.
