FED Baramulla protests against ‘pick and choose’ policy of dept

Urges higher ups to fulfil their demands

Srinagar, Sep 13: Scores of members of Forest Employees Federation (FED) Baramulla on Wednesday staged protest against the department what they called as the pick and choose policy adopted by the department.
The members of the federation assembled in the JV division here and chanted slogans against the department.
They were demanding authorities to promote the employees who are working as orderly, Watcher, Chowkidar, Helpers and Gardner in the department since 1993.
The protesting members said that the authorities have failed to promote the employees from several years thereby resulted in the sever hardships to the residents here.
However, the protesting members said that those who have been recruited in the year 2003 through SRO have been promoted, which is open indiscrimination with the employees working in the department since 1993.

They said that the authorities must not ignore the plights of the employees and should promote the employees at earliest.
“We have been promised several times so far but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard,” they said, adding that in case the authorities fail to take up their issue at earliest then they will hit the streets against the department.
Meanwhile, the protesting Employees federation members later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
