‘Interests of all concerned should be protected in a satisfactory manner’
Srinagar, Sep 23: President of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has asked the government to open dialogue and discussion with the transport operators operating from Batmaloo bus stand and resolve the issue of shifting of bus stand to Parimpora in an amicable fashion.
In a statement issued to KNS, Mir said the government should have adopted this approach to avoid the confrontationist mode for that has caused numerous problems to the passengers, commuters and even the vendors for the last few weeks. There should have been a better sense of understanding and approaching the issue with an open minded.
“I am absolutely clear with the changing times and the increasing passenger rush, the decongestion is in tune with the times, but for that the unilateral measures are not the answer,” Mir said.
Mir said that the best course is to have talks, consult the stakeholders and taken them into confidence befitting a democratic society and environment to ease the situation. All issues can be resolved by sitting across the table. The interests of all concerned should be protected in a satisfactory manner, Mir said. (KNS)
