Gandoh, sept, 25: Despite tall claims of the government about providing safe drinking water to people living in far-flung areas of the state, there are a number of areas which are still deprived of portable drinking water.

The People of Gundow and Bharthi have allege that the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department is not taking any concrete step to end their miseries. “Many times we approached the officials, but there is no positive response. We are forced to cover a distance of 2 to 3 kilometer to fetch drinking water,” said a local resident of Bharthi.

A local Tanveer Ahmed said the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has totally failed to provide water to the people of that area.He alleged that local political leaders have also ignored the common masses in the area.

“Residents of Gundow A , Malik pura, Bharthi and other areas of sub-Division Gandoh are facing serious water crises from the last one year and it is a matter of great concern that authorities have not been able to address this problem, said a local resident of Gundow.
