‘Demand damaged school buildings be demolished to avert tragedies’
Srinagar, Sep 26: In an extraordinary meeting of Gulmarg Development Committee (GDC) held under chairmanship of Nazir Ahmad Qadri all the participants hailed the pace of development in the area. They thanked the efforts of Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary Education J&K state.
In a statement issued to KNS, the GDC said thanked Shah for sanctioning Sub office of BOSE at Kunzar, auditorium at GHSS Kunzar and teachers training centres at Kunzar.
The GDC also appreciated the efforts of Shah for adjusting efficient education officer in the area especially the Chief Education officer for Baramulla District.
The GDC demanded that all the Govt High Schools may be provided headmasters. “It is praise worthy that efficient monitoring of educational institutions will upgrade the education standards in the area,” they said.
They added that most of the far flung areas for the first time are getting attention.
The GDC expects that all local problems will be solved in a time bound manner. The meeting was attended by a large number of members including reputed intellectuals of the area.”GDC demands that the damaged structures in the school premises may be auctioned and demolished at an earliest as they are endangering the lives of young students otherwise it can causes a major tragedy at some later stage. GDC demands that Govt Middle school Chak Sari may be upgraded as high school as it has been neglected since 1970,” reads the press statement. (KNS)
