GK journalist manhandled at Bandipora Hospital

Bandipora, Sep 04: A Journalist Namely Ejazul Haq Bhat Working for Valley’s Leading outlet Greater Kashmir  was on Monday manhandled by a health official inside district hospital Bandipora.

Ejaz who works with Greater Kashmir as a Correspondent from Bandipora was manhandled by an unnamed Asha Worker inside Bandipora Hospital where he was accompanying his ailing mother.

Ejaz said that, I was accompanying with my ailing mother.  As we both were waiting outside the operation theatre for two hours, an unnamed ASHA worker who claiming himself as president of Asha workers Association without any reason asked me and my ailing mother to get up from our seats, and pushed us. When I resisted, she slapped and dragged both me and my ailing mother out of theatre”
How can a Asha Worker without any reason threatened abused a media persons Ejaz told Brighter Kashmir.

When Contacted Chief Medical  Officer Bandipora Dr Bilques she said that action will taken against an official involved in the incident.

Meanwhile Bandipora Journalist Association has condemned the assault on Ejaz and termed the act as an effort to muzzle the press.

It is pertinently mentioned here that Journalist’s had recently exposed scam of district hospital Bandipora after which BMO Bandipora along with two other employees were suspended.
