SRINAGAR 7 September: Awami Itihad Party youth leader and social Activist Syed Aijaz Kashani Thursday castigated New Delhi and state government for adopting a policy of “ruining” the future of Kashmiri youth by detaining them under false cases.
“When the name of a youth is included in police records, his chances of getting a government or private jobs become bleak. Government is confirming the arrests of some youth from different areas of valley, but basically they are trying to destroy the future of Kashmiri youth,” Syed Aijaz Kashani said in a statement issued here.
“The arrest spree has not only played with the future of our youth but it has ruined the socio-economic set- up of thousands of families by arresting the youth in false cases, resulting in the mental stress of their parents and close relatives,” he said.
Aijaz Kashani said if the government was sincere in its “tall claims of providing employment to youth, then it should withdraw all the cases against youth so that they can get jobs on ability and merit.”
He also condemned the detention of other political prisoners, accusing the government of trying to muzzle the voice of those who talk about the political rights of Kashmiris.Kashmiri youth has been put behind bars and detained under PSA and other black laws,” he said.
