Srinagar, Sep 26: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Tuesday strongly denounced NIA for the continuous harassment and interrogation of Dr. Syed Naseem Geelani, saying that it is a ploy perpetrated by authorities and its main aim is to scare and break determination and commitment of Syed Ali Geelani.
Dr. Naseer Geelani was summoned by NIA and asked to present himself on 25th September and unnecessary questioning continued even today, said Hurriyat.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that NIA is unreasonably targeting and subjecting Geelani’s family to vengeance and added that previously NIA summoned Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif ullah, Raja Meraj-u-din Kalwal and arrested and other pro-freedom leaders, traders, layers, scholars including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Dr. Bilqis Shah, Agha Syed Hassan Al Safvi, Miya Abdul Qayyum, Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Nayem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shah Wali Mohammad, Aala-Fazili, Mohammad Yasin Khan, Shahid-ul-Islam, Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Chaudhry Abdul Razaq were detained or served summons by said investigating agency.
Hurriyat (G) said that even though authorities utilized all these coercive and suppressive tactics to break our resolve but failed and despite all this, people pursuing the freedom movement unquestionably would achieve their destination.
Meanwhile Syed Ali Geelani expressed his deep grief over the demise of Dr. Meraj u Din Munshi and said that late Munshi was a God-fearing person and well-wisher of freedom movement. He extended his heartfelt condolences with grieved family and prayed for their forbiddance and heavenly aboard for departed soul.
Meanwhile on the directions of Syed Ali Geelani, Mohd Rafiq Owasi, Mohd Ashraf and Gh Mohd Mir visited bereaved family and extended their condolences and prayed for the departed soul. (KNS)
