Notorious drug peddler among 5 arrested in Rajouri 

 DRUG, WEIGHT MACHINE, SYRINGES, CASH RECOVERED 

Rajouri, Sep 20: Rajouri Police today arrested a notorious drug Peddler along with his four associates from two vehicles in Manjakote area. While on random patrol in his area, a police team led by Inspr Mohd Iqbal SHO Police Station Manjakote noticed two vehicles parked on roadside with suspicious activities . On seeing the sudden presence of Police in the area, the dug Peddlers tried to flee from being noticed by the Police. However Police team reacting swiftly apprehended all the persons and recovered alleged banned drug Heroin from the possession of Mohd Shakoor S/O Mohd Bashir R/O Danidhar Rajouri. The other associates arrested include Tauseef Hussain Shah S/O Sageer Hussain Shah R/O Dhanidhar running a Medical shop at Kothdhara , Mohd Ajaz S/O Md Yousaf caste Gujjar R/O Chingus a driver by profession, Zakir Hussain S/O Shabir Hussain R/O Dhanidhar and Mohd Arif S/O Md Aziz R/O Thermal Colony Kalakote. The other recoveries include four number of used syringes allegedly used for injecting drug , two weight machines purposely used to weigh small quantities like the banned drugs , two spoons, two lighters and ₹ 181500.00 in Indian Currency notes and 292 Riyals. The recovery of spoons, syringes and lighters along with the Heroin & cash is a clear indicator that the accused persons were drug addicts and were on their way to procure more quantity of drugs from some sources. The accused persons were unable to provide a satisfactory reply for the recoveries made from them. Allegedly some marks of syringes were also found on the body parts of the accused persons. 

On questioning the accused persons admitted to their involvement in drug peddling  and also in drug abuse. They were on way to make some deals in the drug Peddling during this journey.  Mohd Shakoor S/O Mohd Bashir R/O Danidhar Rajouri has been arrested by Police for his involvement in Drug Peddling in the past and is involved in a number of other criminal cases also. The accused persons were traveling in two vehicles bearing registration Numbers JK02S-8179 ZEN and JK02V-9224 Maruti 800. Case FIR No. 83/2017 u/s 8/21/22/27/29 NDPS Act stands registered against all the accused persons and investigation taken up. The arrests were made by Police team led by SHO Manjakote Mohd Iqbal and SDPO Manjakote Imtiaz Ahmad under the supervision of Addl SP Rajouri Mohd Yousaf and SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas.
