Jammu, Sep 23: During the interaction, Gursimran raised different issues including empanelment of Online News Portals, for which DIPR is yet to rollout any Policy. He also stressed for seperate Advertisement Policy for Web based News Portals which are working in Jammu and Kashmir.
Parkash Dubey, Member PCI Team hailed the efforts of Web News Portals and assured that grievances will be taken at higher level.
Delegation also sought the intervention of PCI in facilitating Life cover to all the working journalists, as the life cover from respective organizations is not sufficient enough.
It was also conveyed to the PCI team that the accreditation Policy of the state is restricted to Print and Electronic Media only and demanded inclusion of Web News Portals in the accreditation Policy.
The team member assured that their grievances are genuine and will be highlighted at appropriate forums and resolved accordingly. PCI Team also said that they already have sent an recommendation to Centre to allot a specific amount from total advertisement budget to Online Portals as they are the future of Media.
