Srinagar, Sep 19: Students Union of Gujjar and Bakarwal Hostels of Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday while staging a protest expressed deep concern over the functioning of Gujjar and Bakarwal hostels across State.
Scores of students staying in different hostels assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and alleged that the inmates of boys and girls Gujjar Bakarwal hostels are deprived of the basic facilities.

They said that the poor students whose parents can’t afford books, uniform and even balanced diet are given admission in these hostels but unfortunately the concerned authorities fail to provide these facilities to them.
They said that the maintenance of Gujjar and Bakarwal hostels is a matter of concern as there is no comprehensive policy in this regard. “There is lack of infrastructure and maintenance in our hostels. We appeal Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter and direct authorities to equip our hostels with all types of facilities,” the protesting students told news agency CNS.
