Only oppressive authoritarian regimes keep people in jails and incarcerations centers. Persecution of Burmese Muslims and inaction of the international community on it is regrettable. This was stated by the chairman of Jammu Kashmir liberation front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik while speaking to a mammoth gathering at Jenab sahib Soura today. Without any prior announcement, JKLF chairman arrived at Aanchar Soura and led a protest rally as show of solidarity with thousands of Kashmiris languishing in jails and police stations and against the ongoing persecution of Muslims in Myanmar. While speaking to people on the occasion, JKLF chairman said that Islam teaches us unity and oneness and if we are able to safeguard our unity and remain steadfast in our struggle, no power on earth can ever defeat us. He said that not many nations have given sacrifices for freedom of their land like Kashmiris and only thing we need to do now is to remain steadfast and pursue our goal with fervor, focus and steadfastness. Terming Kashmiris languishing in jails and police stations as prisoners of conscience, JKLF chairman said that so-called biggest democracy and its allies in Jammu Kashmir have incarcerated thousands of young and old, men and women in the name of peace and law and order. Black Laws like PSA and investigating agencies like NIA are being used to jail and intimidate people. He said that from Tihar jail Delhi to jails in Jammu Kashmir, thousands are being terrorized and tortured that too in the name of democracy.   He said that Suppressing people’s voices by killings and incarcerations is no democracy but worst kind of dictatorship because only oppressive authoritarian regimes keep people in jails and incarceration centers. He said that India and its stooges should know that suppression and oppression can never undermine a peoples struggle. Instead these kinds of tactics strengthen the resolve and passion of oppressed people, added Yasin Malik.

While condemning the ongoing massacre of Muslims in Rakhine state of Myanmar, JKLF chairman said that humans are being killed, raped, looted and persecuted with impunity and state of Myanmar is engaged in ethnic cleansing of an entire nation. International community till now has stood as a mere spectator on this mass killing and exodus of humans and this Persecution and inaction of the international community on it is regrettable and most condemnable. Expressing solidarity with Muslims in Myanmar, JKLF chairman said that Muslims are like one body and one soul and any Muslim facing hardship anywhere in the world should pains us. Stressing the need for immediate international intervention in this matter, JKLF chairman said that failure of international community in resolving the disputes, issues and matters confronting humans has jeopardized the peace, prosperity and tranquility of the whole universe and if we intend to restore a lasting peace and prosper world, we will have to shun our policies of negligence, disparity and hypocrisy and work towards that the resolution of these disputes and issues.

After the address, JKLF chairman led a protest rally against arrests and persecution of Muslims in Myanmar. People from all walks of life including women, participated in the rally with enthusiasm.
