Srinagar, Sep 17: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) National Vice president Avinash Rai Khana along with National general secretary (organization) Ram Lal is arriving in Srinagar tomorrow, sources told KNS.
BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav is also likely to arrive here on Thursday and would chair meetings of BJP Ministers, MLAs and cadre, sources added.
Sources within the BJP told KNS that during the visit the two top BJP leaders would hold meetings with party ministers, workers , MLAs and office bearers at Deputy CM’s residence here afternoon to discuss organizational matters besides the political situation in the state.
The visit of top BJP leaders, according to BJP insiders, is primarily aimed at reviewing the party’s organizational matters and functioning of the departments headed by the BJP ministers.
Meanwhile, sources informed that National General Secretary Ram Madhav is also arriving here and will also hold meetings with party MLAs, ministers and state office bearers. “The feedback regarding performance of the MLAs and the ministers will be sought during the meetings,” sources maintained.
Sources said that the leaders will review the functioning of Ministers as well as legislators during the meeting and seek a feedback from the party leadership about the same too.
Meanwhile sources alleged that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has not received “encouraging” feedback about the performance of some party leaders, following which the BJP high command decided to depute the top leaders to the valley.
Sources said that during his visit to the state last week, Rajnath had received a number of complaints against some party ministers. “Not only the civil society expressed anger over the performance of the BJP ministers, even a few party delegations also drew his attention to the prevailing resentment among workers against the ministers,” sources maintained.
“Rajnath has not received good feedback about performance of the party nominees in the government,” a source in the party said and added that as a result, these leaders have been asked to initiate a dialogue with the workers.
The sources said the failure of the party ministers to establish contact with common masses especially in the Jammu region had created a “trust-deficit” and anger was brewing among people against the BJP ministers.
Avinahs Rai Khanna confirmed that he along with the National General Secretary organization, Ram Lal is visiting valley tomorrow. “Yes we are visiting the valley tomorrow to meet the party workers as well as the ministers of the BJP,” Khanna told KNS over phone. (KNS)
